6 Ways Bloggers Make Money Online

Blogging has become an internet marketing necessity especially with businesses who use social media to connect with clients. For smaller online entrepreneurs, blogging can also be a good way to make money online. There are many opportunities out there for bloggers including:

  1. Niche Sites - This type of site makes money online by intensely focusing on a particular product or service. One example of this kind of niche site is a review blog. Bloggers can highlight the assets of a particular product or service using a strong call-to-action to purchase through their partnership with that company. Niche sites typically don't have a lot of blog posts but the content is high quality, keyword rich and geared towards catching customers at the "about to buy" phase in the sales cycle.

  2. PPC Advertising - Pay-per-Click (PPC) advertising is all around and can be a good source of income. Google AdSense (the most popular) or AdBrite PPC rely on getting a lot of clicks on advertisements placed throughout the blog site. Making money online with PPC can be difficult if you don't have a lot of traffic to your site as publishers are paid a certain amount of cents per click.

  3. Affiliate Marketing While related to niche site blogging, affiliate marketing can apply to any site. Publishers who like a product or a products potential can sign up for that affiliate program and can place custom links, banners or ads on almost any site. They can place the affiliate link on their blog, in forums, in their email signatures... the more places, the better the chances. There are many affiliate marketing aggregators online including Clickbank, Commission Junction, Shareasale, just to make a few

  4. Royalties There is an insatiable appetite for information products and it is for that reason many bloggers create their own products. They create a guide, a manual, and package it with graphics, affiliate links and then sell it. Customers purchase and securely download the product and the author collects royalties from the sale. The investment for this option is very time intensive but as authors, bloggers have more control over the products and can create multiple products over time which generate significant passive income.

  5. Webinars - For those who have created a system, they can make money online by teaching people how to use their system. This can be a lucrative means on online income but it does require that there is demand for what you have to teach as well as a means of conveying the information. There can be upfront costs associated with software, online facilities, even advertising but if the customers demand it, webinars can be an excellent source of blogger income

  6. Freelance Projects - There are plenty of projects from people who could care less about how it's done, they just want it done. Many bloggers make money online as freelance copywriters, site developers, social media professionals and because they get to work from home, they work inexpensively which makes them attractive to clients on a budget. Sites such as Elance, ODesk, Fiverr have many projects ready for the right candidate.
For bloggers who are focused on making money online the right mixture of perseverance, versatility, creativity and patience are necessary. Being able to generate multiple sources of income can help because success doesn't happen overnight despite slick promises. If you're a blogger who's ready, then roll up your sleeves and get to work.
